MEET THE TEAM

LEADERS

Jenny Stasik-Cates

Founder/CEO

Jenny has always enjoyed working with people of all ages, especially with youth.  She brings experience from many different fields she has worked in.

When she worked as an Educational Assistant – Intensive Support for one of the local school boards, she found that kids had a hard time regulating themselves and their emotions.  Bring in COVID, and it was even harder for youth to connect with themselves, and everything around them.

She is excited to work on bringing Journey Haven to a place that people will be excited to gather + explore their environment and themselves, and helping each individual gain knowledge of the tools and skills that will work for them.

Ally Stasik

Founder/Leader

Ally cannot wait for summer camps to start so she can explore the river beds with the kids, along with STEM and potions that Harry Potter theme is bringing to the camps this year.

Ally is working on her Traditional Herbal Diploma along with Ayurveda.  Her love of nature, science, and holistic work continues to fuel her curosity for learning.

She enjoys her walks, getting ready for camp, and spending time with her family!

JUNIOR LEADERS + LEADERS-IN-TRAINING(LIT)

Jaseena Cates

Founder/Junior Leader

Jaseena is one of our amazing Junior Leaders and has been part of Journey Haven in many roles over the past five years. She’s been a huge part of the fun, care, and success our campers have experienced — always ready to lend a hand, share a laugh, and help kids feel at home.

Outside of camp, Jaseena’s big passion is ringette — she’s proud to play on the U16AA London Lynx Ringette team. When she’s not at the rink, you’ll probably find her spending time with friends, family, or her fur family. This fall, she’ll be attending St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School, bringing her big heart and team spirit with her wherever she goes.

Ava

Junior Leader

Ava is one of our Junior Leaders this year, and we’re so excited to have her back for her fourh year in a leadership role at Journey Haven. Ava’s attention to detail and naturally empathetic way of supporting others make her a huge part of what makes our camps special.

Outside of camp, Ava’s passions keep her busy — she plays soccer and brings her creative side to life through the South Huron Community Theatre. This fall, she’ll be heading into Grade 10 at St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School, ready to keep learning and leading both on and off the field.

Dylan

Junior Leader

Dylan is one of our incredible Junior Leaders this summer. A quiet leader with a big heart, he brings a calm and steady energy to camp. He loves being outdoors and spending time with his younger brothers — whether it’s fishing, hanging out with friends, or riding his dirt bike or four-wheeler.

We’re so grateful to have Dylan on the Journey Haven team, leading by example and showing our campers the value of kindness, patience, and enjoying the simple things in life.

Izzy

Junior Leader

Molly

Junior Leader

Molly is a past camper who quickly became a big part of our Journey Haven family. She’s always fit right in and has shown a natural spark for leadership from the start. Molly’s friendly approach and easygoing way help campers feel comfortable and included — she has a gift for making everyone feel like they belong.

We’re so excited to have her on our Leadership Team this year and can’t wait to see her shine.

Lily

Junior Leader

Halle

Leader-In-Training

Mya

Leader-In-Training

Delilah

Leader-In-Training

Delilah joined the Journey Haven family last year as a camper and quickly stood out for her true leadership skills and her natural curiosity. She brings a willingness to learn, explore, and help others feel included — qualities we love to see grow in our future leaders.

We’re so happy to have Delilah back with us and can’t wait to see all the ways she’ll shine this season.

PAWSITIVE LEADERS

Capers

Pawsitive Leader

Capers works for treats, and can’t wait to be pet + loved.  He will be joining the camps this year to help with transitions, or to help us chill out like him.

He loves to work with kids, and is always there to reassure with his warm presence.

On his time off, he loves to chase squirrels, bark at the neighbours to come say hello and not ignore him, and hang out his family!
